As we have already discussed, pain is complex and is rarely the result of one, single factor.
Today, we’re going to talk about the biopsychosocial model and how it relates to pain.
The Biopsychosocial model consists of three primary factors. These include:Biological factors – injury (tissue damage), illness, physical stress and genetic factors.Psychological factors – Pain beliefs, pain movement, stress, anxiety and depression. Social factors – Family and work circumstances, social isolation and financial stress.
